E-Bike Roadshows

E-Bike Roadshows were a great way to bring e-bikes to the community.

Routefifty7 hosted a series of Roadshows all over the island. The idea was to give people a taster session and try out different types of e-bikes.

The project established an e-cycle roadshow offering potential users the opportunity to try e-cycles in a safe setting. The project engaged with a wide variety of locations. at which we deployed a mobile e-cycle roadshow. This meant we motivated and enthused a minimum of 1000 first time users of e-bikes. It focussed firstly on women, secondly on people with health issues or a disability, and thirdly, older people.

As a result, at the Roadshows islanders were therefore, able to learn all about e-bikes and also, ask any questions they had.

And, by filling in a short survey asking for their views, they were therefore,  in with a chance to win a fantastic brand new Crussis e-bike worth £1,600.

We wanted islanders to have the best possible experience of an e-bike. Therefore, we used existing cycle trails which are largely traffic free. This meant they could fully appreciate the capabilities of the e-bikes.

We chose locations that were near to cycle trails which meant that we were inadvertently advertising these routes as viable cycle routes for islanders to use. Similarly, These Roadshows were an Isle of Wight Council funded project designed to give islanders a taster ride on an e-bike.

All roadshows were held at weekends. which meant we could help people when they had the most aptitude to cycle.

In conclusion, the roadshows were a great success and most importantly, we introduced E-bikes to well over 1000 people with 15% of customers looking to definitely invest in an e-bike. Moreover, many customers admitted that they would definitely consider using ab bike and giving up their car for commuting. Furthermore, many motorbike riders were willing to change to electric powered bikes

Here’s a film of some of the Roadshows we’ve hosted:
