Total Length: 10 miles.

Duration: 2 hours.

Classification: A medium length, fairly easy ride on cycle paths and quiet roads.

You can pick up this trail by cycling down the Red Squirrel Trail to Appuldurcombe House and on to to Godshill. Once at  signs for the Chequers Public House (they do a great carvery there) you will pick up the trail. At the Chequers turn right signposted ‘Rookley‘. You’ll soon come to ‘Shide‘ where most of the Islands Christmas Trees are grown where you will join up with National Cycle Route 23 as it meanders along the River Medina. On reaching the old Merstone Station, you will depart from Route 23 and turn right down Merstone Lane and from there heading back to heading back to Godshill and on to routefifty7.
