Home » Cycle Trails » Sandown Trail : 11

Total Length: 5 miles.

Duration: 1 hour.

Classification: A short, fairly easy ride.

This route otherwise know as ‘Route 11’ is a short ride that starts where the Red Squirrel meets Sandown Pier and takes you along the seafront past Dinosaur Isle and The Isle of Wight Zoo and then inland towards Yaverland. It is at this point worth detouring up towards Culver Cliff where the views across the bay are phenomenal. There is also a pub at the top next to the monument that puts this detour at the top of the routefifty7 favourites list!

Carry on to Brading and the East Yar Valley with plenty of places to stop for refreshments. Check out the Award winning Roman villa one of the finest Roman sites in the UK, or even pop in to Adgestone Vinyard and have a tour.

Once past the fantastic Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club rejoin the Sandown cycleway which brings you back into Sandown and to the sea front for an easy pootle back to routefifty7.

Start here. Go anywhere.
