FAQ – For Lenders

SOME HELPFUL TIPS FROM LENDIME

If you have an e-bike to lend, that’s fantastic. But if you want to make money out of your e-bike, here are a few things you need to think about which will help you on your way.

HOW TO START THE PROCESS OF LENDING YOUR E-BIKE

Download the LendiMe Bike Specification Form to see all the information we’ll require from you.  If you have a few photographs to add, even better, but if not, don’t worry we can help with this.

If you can’t access this form, don’t worry, we’ll even print a form off for you to fill in by hand.

Routefifty7 will be on hand to assist you all the way through your LendiMe journey.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR E-BIKE FOR LENDING

Provide a bike that is fit for use. You should always lend a bike that is in rideable condition. Give it a clean. If you have a small problem, you can’t fix yourself, don’t worry we’ll fix it for you free of charge! However, if parts are needed we will charge a fee to cover our costs.

We have a duty of care and want all our cyclists to stay safe so if your eBike is currently not roadworthy, why not take your bike along to your nearest bike repair shop who can advise you on what work needs doing and how much it will cost.

HOW CAN I GET MY E-BIKE TO YOU?

We are based in Shanklin, but if you can’t drop your e-bike off, we can arrange collection from your home, workplace or somewhere else convenient.

HOW MUCH MONEY WILL I MAKE?

You will get exactly 50% of any hire.  For example, we charge £48 per day for the hire of an eBike. That’s £24 in your pocket.

HOW WILL I GET PAID?

We can pay you in unicorns if you want. But our preferred method is to pay you by bank transfer within 7 working days.

PEACE OF MIND FOR YOUR E-BIKE

We live and breathe bike hire, so we are excellent at ensuring bikes are looked after.

Your e-bike will even be tracked by Apple Airtag when it’s out on a journey, so we can safely watch its movements.

CAN I LIST MORE THAN ONE BIKE?

Yup. You can lend bikes to your heart’s content. In fact, the more the merrier.

CAN I JOIN LENDIME IF I DON’T LIVE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT?

Unfortunately not. We are only opening this lovely opportunity to Isle of Wight residents at the moment. Tell your Isle of Wight friends and family though about LendiMe and help our community – and their chances of having their e-bike hired!

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO JOIN LENDIME?

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

LendiMe is totally free. Just send us details of your bike and sit back and count the moolah! When you deposit your e-bike with us, we’ll even give a free service. How’s that for a bargain!

HOW LONG DOES MY BIKE STAY ON THE SCHEME?

We ask that your e-bike stays with LendiMe for a minimum of two weeks, but you can lend it for as long as you like.

You can ask for your e-bike to be returned any time assuming it’s not on hire, just give us a call and we can arrange for you to pick it up. Or, for we can deliver it back to you.

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

LendiMe is here for our bike sharing community before, during and after you share your e-bike. Please get in touch and let us help you. We are a new community and still learning – please give us feedback so we can help make bike sharing and the benefits an enjoyable experience for Isle of Wight residents.
